2017-2018, Original Force

This was a fun movie to work on. I helped develop the look of the main cat character with the director, character designers, and modelers. I also painted visual development illustrations, designed environments and sets, and painted around 20 characters to show the color and texture for their potential Look of Picture. It was my responsibility to create design pages of the characters with notes and references to send to the design team in China. I also came up with the poster idea, tag line and painted it while the director designed the layout and the character designer drew the cat. They even had me doing scratch dialog, something out of my comfort zone but I found it very enjoyable. Unfortunately, the film was cancelled in 2018 after working on it for about 18 months. It was later picked up by Canadian studio, L'Atillie Animation, who were able to finally make the movie in 2023 using a lot of the original designs and vis-dev work we created at Original Force.
